Amazon announced today a new partnership with Uber Eats to offer Amazon Prime members free delivery on Uber Eats orders of $25 or more when ordering through Amazon.

When you order through the Amazon link, it redirects you to the normal Uber Eats ordering system. You don’t need to have an Uber account to use the Amazon system. When create a profile through Amazon, the system is basically creating a new Uber profile for you, not tied to your regular Uber profile. Payment is processed through Amazon Pay.

However, there is a major downside: you can’t use Uber Eats gift cards and you can’t use Amazon gift cards to pay for your order. You can’t use Uber Eats promo codes on these orders.

Two $20 Discounts

They’re also running a launch promo through November 18, 2026, to offer $20 off your Uber Eats order of $25+. Can be done twice for $40 in total discounts. This discount works on pickup orders or delivery orders.

While promo codes won’t work, this offer can stack with with the various BOGO deals found on Uber Eats. It might also stack with the Citi Offer for $10/$15 off, if you activate that offer and then pay with your Citi card in Amazon Pay.

Our Verdict

This is a solid new benefit if you don’t have Uber One and would otherwise be paying delivery fees. I think it’s a smart partnership on Amazon’s side to make Prime synonymous with free delivery even in the restaurant space. The two $20 initial discounts are a great deal as well.

If you already have Uber One, this Amazon partnership might not be useful beyond the initial $20 discounts. The Amex Platinum personal card offers a free Uber One benefit. Since I already have the Uber One benefit from the card, I’ll use the regular Uber Eats system in order to be able to pay with my Uber gift card balance. I’ll still do two orders via Amazon to take advantage of the $20 discounts.

My guess: as Uber offers more and more ways to get free delivery, they’ll also start increasing the service fees. It’s all a game of cat and mouse, but for now we can try to play it right with free delivery via Amazon Prime for now.

Meanwhile, the old Amazon-Grubhub partnership is ending, effective immediately. Depending on your ordering preference, that was arguably a better deal with free delivery on orders $12+.
